Micro-blogging is an excess anyone would find hard to justify, particularly if you’re already on Facebook and have your own blog. After trying the service out though, I found ‘twittering’ too enjoyable to give up.

A micro-blog entry (also known as a tweet or a twitter) consists of 140-characters and gets fed to the home-screens of your “followers” (your friends who also twitter). You’re meant to post links, short rants, news tidbits, personal updates…virtually any thought that just isn’t substantial enough for you to commit to a full-blown, blog entry.

As finicky as it may sound, Twitter runs such a great service that the practice quite easily becomes habit.
